- Use OS/400 security and save/restore functions
- Save and restore objects
- Resolve system problems
- Order, receive, and install PTFs
AS27M - iSeries Advanced System Operator Workshop
This course is designed to enhance the skills of an iSeries system operator and develop additional skills in the areas of work management, CL programming and menu creation. |
OE41M - Introduction to Integrated Language Environment
This course teaches the student the concepts of the Integrated Language Environment (ILE) including module creation, binding, service programs, and running programs. The class also covers work management considerations such as activation groups, how they are used and ILE Error Handling. |
OE85M - Moving from RPG/400 to iSeries RPG IV
This course is designed to introduce you to the RPG IV language and to some of the basic concepts of the Integrated Language Environment (ILE) that you will use to create RPG IV programs and applications. |
OE98M - Introduction to i5, iSeries & AS/400e for New Users 700
In this classroom course, you will learn basic concepts and skills you need to be a productive users on the i5 and iSeries. With plenty of hands-on labs, we show everything from signing on (green screen environment) and using the various screens, to finding printouts; from sending and receiving messages, to making sense of security. You will learn to use both i5/OS and OS/400 Control Language (CL) commands (fast path), and also the menus and displays (for first time users, or infrequently performed task). In addition to the above, we will introduce you to graphical interfaces available for use in the i5 and iSeries customer environments, such as iSeries Access and Navigator (PC-based applications). |
OL19M - iSeries System Administration & Control
This course explains how to plan for, implement and manage the ongoing operations of the system. Emphasis is on security, system availability, backup and recovery, system software management and problem determination. You are also introduced to the architecture and terminology of the iSeries. |
OL20M - iSeries & AS/400e Control Language Programming Workshop
This classroom course of four days is designed to teach the students to write Control Language (CL) programs which may be used to perform a variety of system and application control functions. The students will be taught to write basic and intermediate level interactive and batch CL programs, user commands, and CL programs that function as user tools (programs that use the output of display commands as input). |
OL23M - iSeries Structure, Tailoring, & Basic Tuning
This classroom course of two days explains how to balance the workload on the iSeries system to ensure optimum performance. Specifically, this course explains how to manage workloads, measure system performance, and tune the operating system to meet processing requirements. Hands-on exercises give you the opportunity to use the system functions that are available for controlling workload and tuning system performance. Evaluation criteria presented in this course are based on the latest information available from IBM development labs. |
OL37M - Accessing the DB2 UDB for iSeries Database Using SQL
SQL is a very powerful programming and database language that is widely used in business today. For example, SQL can be used to perform interactive database queries as well as to extract data from a server and pass that data to a Java applet running on a client PC. SQL is frequently used in iSeries high-level languages as an alternate means to access the database. This course is designed to teach iSeries programmers and highly skilled iSeries users how to access the DB2 UDB database using the SQL. Students will learn how to create, maintain, and query the database using the interactive SQL interface and iSeries Navigator. |
